You will also want to make sure to have gloves to protect your hands while working. Make sure that the area you will be working in is well lit. We don’t want any accidents due to poor visibility.

So, The first thing you need to do is cut away any loose or frayed caulking. Splash a little water on it to help loosen it up. Remove as much of the caulking as you can this way. Now you will want to make a mixture of flour and water. Using white flour as whole wheat flour will not give you the consistency that you want. Start with a cup of flour and a few tablespoons of water. Add flour or water as needed until you get a thick paste.

Once you have your flour paste ready, spread it over the remaining caulking with your finger. Make sure you cover all of it. Now you will need to wait for the mixture to dry. After it has dried, simply wash your paste away. So, this will take the remaining caulking with it. Now you are ready to apply your new mildew-resistant caulking. That was easy!
